The Sikh religion was founded by
Guru Nanak, who was born in 1469. It was originally intended to bring together
the best of the Hindu and Islamic religions. Sikhism preaches a message
of devotion and remembrance of God at all times, truthful living, equality of
mankind and denounces superstitions and blind rituals.
A Sikh is a person who believes in the ten Gurus
– the lineage that begins with Guru Nanak Dev Ji born in 1469, and concludes
with Guru Gobind Singh Ji who ascended the heavens in 1708. |
