Tamil Nadu in South India has a 900-kilometer coastline that is marked by sandy beaches and lush green palm trees and casuarinas groves that add to the beauty of the strikingly pretty golden sands. The southern state of Tamil Nadu, the seat of Dravidian culture, has long been considered a prime cultural hub of India.

The Marina beach in Chennai is the second longest beach in the world. It has a wonderful golden foreshore and is known as the 'Pride of Chennai'. Tamil Nadu beaches have many good locations for leisure activites such as sun bathing, wind surfing and rides on motorized boats. The golden sandy beaches are fringed with palm and casuarina trees. The cool sea waters and clear blue skies prodvide the mystic beauty to the beaches.
